Meta has introduced another round of updates to its Edits app as it pushes deeper into the creator economy. The latest release brings bilingual captions, smarter templates and fresh sound effects, giving creators more ways to produce engaging videos and reach wider audiences.
Meta has rolled out several new features for its Edits app, making it easier for creators to produce videos and connect with viewers across different languages.
The update introduces auto-generated bilingual captions, allowing videos to display captions in two languages simultaneously. The feature currently supports 15 languages and aims to help creators reach broader audiences without creating multiple versions of the same content.
Meta says the feature is designed to remove language barriers for creators and viewers alike. The company has also expanded the app’s template library. Creators can now use enhanced templates that support overlays, making it easier to include graphics, text and other visual elements in reusable video formats. The update also introduces clip locking, a feature that keeps selected clips fixed when other users remix a template.
Meta explained how the feature works. “When you lock a clip, it stays in place and easily carries over for anyone who reuses your template.” The company believes the addition will make collaboration easier while preserving important parts of a creator’s original design.

Another part of the update focuses on creativity. Meta has added a collection of new sound effects inspired by summer themes, giving creators more options to enhance short-form videos without relying on external editing software.
The company continues to improve Edits at a rapid pace. Since launching the app, Meta has released frequent updates that include AI-powered editing tools, improved audio controls and workflow enhancements. Each release moves the platform closer to becoming a full-featured alternative for mobile video editing.
The latest additions also reflect a wider shift across the creator economy. Content creators increasingly serve audiences that speak different languages. Automatic translation and multilingual captions are becoming essential tools for growing an online community instead of optional extras.
Meta appears determined to make Edits a central part of that future. By combining AI-powered editing with multilingual features and collaborative templates, the company hopes creators can spend less time editing and more time publishing.
Competition among creator platforms continues to intensify. The winners may not be the platforms with the most features. They may be the ones that help creators reach the largest audience with the least effort.
