Foxconn’s profit jumped 35 percent in the second quarter, beating expectations thanks to huge demand for artificial intelligence tech.

The largest electronics manufacturing company in the world, Foxconn, reported a huge jump in its earnings on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. The major technology firm, officially known as Hon Hai Precision Industry and headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, revealed that its profit rose by 35 percent during the second quarter of the year. This financial performance easily beat the expectations of top market experts and financial analysts across the globe.

The massive profit boost happened during the three months stretching from April to June 2026. During these three months, Foxconn made a total net profit of 59.97 billion Taiwan dollars, which equals roughly 1.86 billion in United States dollars.

This total was significantly higher than the 44.4 billion Taiwan dollars the company earned during the exact same period last year. It also surpassed the estimates made by financial researchers, who had predicted the company would make around 58.8 billion Taiwan dollars.

The main reason behind this rapid financial growth is the booming world of artificial intelligence. Foxconn is widely known as the main company that builds iPhones for Apple, but it is also the primary maker of specialized computer servers for the artificial intelligence giant Nvidia.

Around the world, big tech companies, governments, and internet providers are spending billions of dollars to construct massive computer data centers. These data centers require thousands of powerful computer servers to process complex AI tasks, and Foxconn is the primary factory building that heavy equipment.

Reflecting on the financial results and looking ahead to the rest of the year, Foxconn issued a clear statement in its official earnings release, noting that the company expects “strong growth for revenue this year” driven directly by sustained demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure. Company executives explained that as businesses everywhere rush to build smarter software tools, orders for AI hardware keep coming in faster than before.

Despite challenges in the global economy, Foxconn’s main business branches performed better than anticipated. While sales of everyday personal gadgets like smartphones usually slow down during the middle of the year before new models launch in the autumn, the huge appetite for AI servers helped fill the gap.

In fact, Foxconn had already signaled its strength in July when it reported a 40 percent year-on-year increase in overall sales for the second quarter, setting the stage for Wednesday’s strong profit numbers.

For ordinary people, the big takeaway is that the global artificial intelligence wave is creating massive real-world business. Everyday computer users might think AI is just a software tool on their phones or laptops, but behind those tools are giant machines built in physical factories.

Companies like Foxconn build the physical hardware that makes all modern digital tools work. With demand for artificial intelligence continuing to climb around the world, Foxconn remains in a strong position to keep building the hardware that powers the future of technology.
