Young Engineer Celebrates Earning Master’s Degree at Bucknell

A proud scholar, Anthony Nyoyoko, has achieved a major milestone by earning a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Bucknell University. Reaching this goal took dedication, long hours of study, and a strong community of supporters who helped guide the way.

Looking back on the long journey to graduation, he expressed deep personal gratitude, sharing, “I am grateful to share that I have officially earned my Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Bucknell University”.

The path to completing a higher degree requires steady faith and strong community encouragement. Celebrating the completion of the program, he reflected on the spiritual foundation and guidance that kept him focused through difficult academic challenges, stating, “This achievement means a lot to me. I am deeply grateful to God for the strength, guidance, and grace throughout this journey.”

Academic growth relies heavily on great schools, helpful departments, and dedicated teachers. Giving credit to the institution and faculty members who provided quality instruction and hands on learning environments throughout graduate school, the Anthony noted, “I am grateful to Bucknell University and the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department for the opportunity, support, and learning experience throughout my graduate studies”.

Mentors play an essential role in guiding graduate students through technical research and complex master’s thesis work. Expressing special appreciation for academic leadership and research supervisors who offered advice at every step, the graduate shared, “I am especially grateful to my advisor, Prof. Peter Mark Jansson, P.E., for his guidance, support, and mentorship throughout my program. I am also grateful to my thesis committee and everyone who contributed to and supported my work”.

Beyond classroom walls, family sacrifices and personal relationships make international study possible. Highlighting the family members who opened doors to study in the United States, the scholar wrote, “I am deeply thankful to my family and friends for their constant support and encouragement throughout this journey. I am especially grateful to my uncle, Al Essien, and his wife, Sharese Essien, for giving me the opportunity to pursue my studies in the United States.”

Financial backing and organizational awards also provided critical funding throughout the degree program. Recognizing the foundations and community organizations that provided essential student scholarships and financial assistance, the graduate stated, “I am also grateful for the scholarship support I received from the NSBE Professionals | National Society of Black Engineers and the Seyi Odewale Foundation, as well as the funding and continued support from the Open Discourse Coalition during my graduate journey.”

Earning an advanced engineering degree is about much more than holding a piece of paper or adding a headline to a resume. Reframing the true meaning of academic success, the scholar reflected, “This degree represents more than a credential to me. It represents growth, perseverance, learning, and the support of many people who helped me along the way.”

Stepping forward into an exciting professional career with newfound skills and strong technical knowledge, the Bucknell graduate looks toward the future with optimism and readiness to solve real world problems, concluding, “I am grateful for how far I have come, and I look forward to what comes next.”
