Samsung India’s head of public affairs and ESG, Rajiv Aggarwal, has resigned from the company after nearly four years in the role, according to sources familiar with his departure.
Aggarwal, 57, is serving his final week at Samsung India, the sources said, adding that the reason for his resignation was not immediately known.
The former Indian bureaucrat was responsible for managing Samsung’s relationship with the Indian government, including engagement on policies affecting the South Korean technology company.
Aggarwal, who previously worked at Uber and Meta, declined to comment on his departure. Samsung Electronics also did not respond to requests for comment.
His exit comes as Samsung faces several regulatory issues in India.

Samsung and Apple have recently faced pressure from the Indian government over proposals to require smartphones to come with state-run applications pre-installed. The companies have raised privacy concerns over the proposal.
Samsung is also among companies that have challenged in court an Indian policy that increases payments by businesses to electronic-waste recyclers.
Samsung currently holds a 16.2 per cent share of India’s smartphone market, level with Oppo and behind market leader Vivo.
The company was India’s leading smartphone brand in 2023.
