Nigeria Fintech Week 2026 Set to Unify African Ecosystem

Nigeria Fintech Week (NFW) 2026 is set to gather global tech leaders, financial regulators, investors and ecosystem builders in Lagos to examine the future of African digital finance.

Nigeria’s financial technology sector is preparing for a major national gathering as the ninth edition of Nigeria Fintech Week (NFW26) returns from September 22 to 23, 2026. Hosted by the Fintech Association of Nigeria (FintechNGR) the premier event brings together industry founders, commercial banks, technology providers, investors, policymakers and young innovators to discuss the future of digital finance.

Under the theme “Legacy in Motion: Powering the Digital Renaissance,” this year’s conference marks the largest expansion in the event’s history by holding simultaneous sessions across three key commercial and economic hubs.

The main anchor programme will take place in Lagos at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts (formerly the National Theatre), while parallel live sessions will run concurrently in Abuja and Port Harcourt.

Organizers designed the multi-city format to allow participants across different geopolitical zones to participate locally without needing to travel to Lagos. The move reflects how financial technology adoption has spread beyond traditional commercial hubs into broader regional markets across Nigeria.

The two-day summit addresses an expanding agenda as financial services become increasingly integrated into everyday technology infrastructure. Keynote presentations, panel discussions and expert sessions will cover critical industry themes, including digital banking and infrastructure focused on open banking standards, core payment switches, mobile wallet networks, and cross-border payment corridors.

Discussions will also explore emerging technologies such as practical applications of artificial intelligence, blockchain, stablecoins and advanced cybersecurity measures, alongside regulation and compliance policy dialogues with major regulators including the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on licensing, consumer protection and digital asset frameworks.

Beyond thought-leadership sessions across nine dedicated industry tracks, NFW26 serves as an active commercial marketplace. The gathering features dedicated product showcases, corporate deal rooms and networking sessions designed to help startups secure venture capital funding and partner with established tier-one banks. Organizers are also positioning the conference as a pan-African platform to facilitate cross-border trade, regional payment integration and international regulatory alignment across the continent.

FintechNGR emphasized that building bridges between early-stage startups, legacy financial institutions and government regulators remains essential for creating a sustainable, inclusive financial ecosystem. Registration for the nationwide event is completely free and open to delegates, professionals, entrepreneurs, students and ecosystem builders through the official event platform at nfw.fintechng.org.
