Micron Technology has announced bonuses worth between 35 and 68 months of pay for its direct labour employees in Taiwan for its 2026 financial year, following what the United States chipmaker described as an extraordinary year.
The company said on Friday that the payments would be its largest-ever rewards for employees, with operators, technicians and shift engineers among those eligible.
Micron said more than 60,000 employees worldwide would receive rewards for the 2026 financial year, while its Taiwan employees would receive a minimum cash compensation of T$1.7 million ($53,809).
The rewards include a T$1 million cash bonus for Taiwan employees who joined the company before August 29, 2025.
For entry-level engineers, total rewards will average T$3.4 million, including about T$2.9 million in cash compensation, with the remainder coming in equity at grant value.
Micron said every employee would also receive an annual equity grant.

The announcement comes as unions representing about two-thirds of Micron’s workforce in Taiwan have signalled support for possible industrial action over a bonus dispute.
Micron employs about 15,000 people in Taiwan, which is one of its major manufacturing hubs. The company said it has invested more than T$1.6 trillion in the island.
The company and the Taoyuan union failed to reach an agreement during a mediation meeting last week, with a second round of mediation scheduled.
The unions have previously argued that profit-sharing arrangements at South Korean chipmakers Samsung Electronics and SK hynix have widened the pay gap between their workers and those at Micron.
Micron’s announcement comes after Samsung narrowly avoided a major strike in May following last-minute negotiations with its unions. The proposed action involved as many as 48,000 workers and could have disrupted supplies from the world’s largest memory-chip maker.
Micron is a major global producer of memory chips, competing with Samsung and SK hynix in the market for high-performance memory used in artificial intelligence systems and other technologies.
