Google Raise  $1 Million Fund to boost Sub-Saharan Africa game developers , The aim of this  $1 Million Fund  raise is to  supports  the region’s growing gaming industry by promoting  and providing funding and technical support to to make sure the  local studios  scale their businesses and reach  both nation state audiences and international audiences.

 

 

on Jul 03, 2026  Google annonce the  launched of it   first-ever Google Play Indie Games Fund for Africa, raising  US$1 million to support independent game developers around  Sub-Saharan Africa. The main reason for this US$1 million funds is to strengthening the region’s growing gaming industry by promoting  and providing funding and technical support to to make sure the  local studios  scale their businesses and reach  both nation state audiences and international audiences.

Google company disclose that  Sub-Saharan Africa is home  of  Best storytellers and game developers, making  Africa  it one of the best world’s fastest-growing gaming markets. Even when there is abundance of creative talent many independent studios continue to face limited access to investment, and also hindering their ability to grow and compete globally.

 

To address this, we’re launching the first Google Play Indie Games Fund in Africa. We’re committing $1 million to help 10 promising local studios scale their businesses and reach a global audience. google company said

we are going to supports 10 independent game studios in Sub-Saharan Africa with cash price to enable them  achieve their common goal not only that we are going to make sure they all Receive grants ranging from US$50,000 to US$200,000.

Google also notice that The program is open to indie developers in Sub-Saharan Africa who have launched a mobile, PC or console game.
