Autonomous freight company Gatik raises $200 million in Series D funding to expand its driverless delivery trucks across North America.
A big technology company that builds trucks that can drive by themselves without human drivers inside has just received a huge investment of 200 million dollars.
The company is called Gatik, and it builds medium sized box trucks powered by artificial intelligence to move goods automatically.
The new money announcement came from Santa Clara, California, where the company operates its main headquarters.
Big global investment groups, including the Qatar Investment Authority and Koch Disruptive Technologies, handed over the fresh capital to support Gatik.
Other well known investment groups like ARK Invest, Millennium Management, and Intact Private Capital also joined in giving money to help the business grow.
This investment happened because major grocery stores, supermarkets, and food supply companies urgently need safer and faster ways to transport food and household supplies from huge storage warehouses directly to neighborhood shops.
Human truck drivers are often hard to find, and shipping items back and forth quickly can cost store owners a lot of money.
Gatik solves this problem by using computer brains and smart sensors to drive trucks along fixed daily delivery roads in places like Texas, Arizona, Arkansas, and parts of Canada.
The company’s chief executive officer and co-founder, Gautam Narang, shared his excitement about the money raised. Gautam Narang said, “This round, led by some of the world’s leading financial institutions, is a clear validation of our commercial leadership in autonomous freight.”
He further added, “We have built Gatik with real revenue, deep customer demand, and AI driven autonomous technology proven every day in live supply chains. This round gives us the capital to scale with speed and discipline, serve the world’s largest companies, and define the future of autonomous freight.”
Investors behind the money are equally convinced that self driving trucks are no longer just a futuristic dream or a science experiment.

Abdulla Al-Kuwari, who represents the Qatar Investment Authority, explained their involvement by saying, “Autonomous freight is transforming the global logistics industry, making it more efficient and reliable. QIA is committed to supporting next generation solutions providers like Gatik that are shaping the future of freight infrastructure.”
Another investor, Byron Knight, who serves as president of Koch Disruptive Technologies, noted how quickly the industry is changing.
Byron Knight said, “We’ve long believed autonomous freight has the potential to improve the efficiency and reliability of supply chains. What we’re seeing today is autonomy moving beyond a promising technology into real world commercial operations. Gatik has demonstrated a practical approach to that transition, and we look forward to supporting the company’s continued growth.”
Popular technology investor Cathie Wood, who heads ARK Invest, also shared why her firm put money into the startup. Cathie Wood said, “Autonomous freight is reaching an inflection point as AI and robotics converge to transform the transportation ecosystem. The companies creating durable value will be those that translate breakthrough innovation into scalable commercial execution. Gatik has demonstrated that autonomous trucking is moving beyond experimentation into commercially viable operations with growing customer adoption.”
With this brand new bag of cash, Gatik plans to hire more workers and expand its fleet to operate more than 100 fully driverless trucks.
The company has already completed over 85,000 successful trips delivering groceries and everyday items with almost no delays, showing that computers can handle delivery work safely and reliably.
