Nvidia launches the Jetson Orin Nano 2 computer brain to power real-time artificial intelligence in drones, delivery robots, and smart devices.
Nvidia has officially unveiled a powerful new compact computer brain called the Jetson Orin Nano 2, designed specifically to bring advanced physical artificial intelligence to drones, robots, and smart camera systems.
Instead of relying on distant cloud data centers that require constant internet connections, the tiny computer chip allows smart machines to read visual images, process language, and make split second physical decisions right on the spot.
By packing frontier level artificial intelligence performance into a small, energy saving board, the technology provider is helping engineers build smarter delivery drones, industrial factory helpers, home cleaning robots, and automated security cameras.
The major hardware announcement was formally published in global technology reports on August 26, 2026, marking a significant step forward for physical computing.

Explaining how small computer models can now achieve high level reasoning on small devices without relying on massive server centers, Vice President of Robotics and Edge AI at Nvidia Deepu Talla stated, “The Jetson Orin Nano 2 computer puts that breakthrough within reach of millions of developers, delivering the performance and energy efficiency needed for real-time reasoning at the edge”.
Highlighting how improved computer brains allow companion robots and smart home devices to understand human instructions much better, Deepu Talla noted, “The problem with companion robots has been that the intelligence has not been good, but now, with the availability of all this frontierl evel intelligence, which can run in real time on Orin Nano or Orin Nano 2, we can enable a new class of applications”.
