Chinese AI startup MiniMax sees first-half revenue nearly quadruple to $116.6 million as companies embrace cheap tech tools.
AI startup MiniMax has posted a massive jump in its financial earnings, with sales nearly quadrupling in the first six months of the year.
The Chinese computer software company generated 116.6 million dollars in revenue during the first half of the year, marking a massive 283 percent increase compared to the exact same period last year.
Thousands of corporate customers and everyday smartphone users are rushing to sign up for the company’s low cost digital assistants, automatic video generators, and smart computer coding tools.
The sharp increase in sales shows that businesses around the world are eagerly choosing affordable artificial intelligence options to handle daily work tasks and cut office operating costs.
The strong financial results were formally published in official market reports released in Shanghai on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
Following a highly successful public stock launch on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange earlier this year, the tech enterprise reported rapid sales growth across all major software divisions.
Income generated from its Open Platform enterprise segment, which sells smart computer services directly to outside corporate businesses, exploded by over 700 percent to reach 73.9 million dollars.
Meanwhile, consumer products like the Hailuo AI video creation platform and the Talkie chat assistant brought in another 42.6 million dollars from active subscribers.
The primary driver behind this sudden boom in revenue is the rapid global demand for powerful yet cheap artificial intelligence models.

While legacy software systems in Western countries often charge heavy subscription fees, Asian technology providers like MiniMax offer budget friendly tools that deliver high performance at a fraction of the price.
Companies building mobile apps, customer service chats, and digital media tools are switching to these lower cost open platforms so they can run advanced computer programs without breaking their monthly operational budgets.
Explaining how the company intends to keep lowering software costs while building smarter digital tools, executive leaders at MiniMax stated in their official earnings release that the startup will keep pushing to extend the “performance cost frontier,” first getting performance to a level that can handle complex real world tasks and then improving efficiency to allow capabilities to be rolled out more widely and affordably.
Detailing why artificial intelligence growth is expanding fast across the global marketplace instead of staying trapped in a single region, Chief Executive Officer Yan Junjie previously noted on an investor call that “we believe AI is not currently a zero sum market, but rather one where annual incremental growth far exceeds the existing base”.
Highlighting how low cost, open-source computer frameworks are reshaping international competition for high tech tools, financial analysts at Reuters confirmed that “the performance highlights rising demand for cheaper, open source based models from Chinese providers such as MiniMax”.
By expanding its affordable computer software platform globally, MiniMax is helping transform how businesses use high tech digital tools.
Providing low cost artificial intelligence ensures that small startups, office workers, and everyday creators can build modern digital projects efficiently, keeping the global technology market competitive, fast moving, and accessible to everyone.
