Zenith Bank Plc has expanded its nationwide corporate social responsibility initiatives, deploying multi-million naira investments in digital infrastructure, renewable power and practical skills training to prepare Nigerian students for the modern economy.
Zenith Bank has expanded its educational corporate social responsibility efforts across Nigeria, investing heavily in digital technology, school infrastructure, renewable energy and student development programs.
The bank’s initiatives focus on bridging the digital divide, providing hands-on technology access, addressing power supply challenges in schools and removing social barriers to learning.
To help students gain practical computer experience rather than theoretical knowledge alone, Zenith Bank has provided ICT facilities and computer equipment to several higher institutions. Benefiting schools include the University of Nigeria, Lagos State University, Ebonyi State University, Veritas University, and Bamaina Academy in Dutse, Jigawa State. Hands-on computer access ensures students build the digital familiarity needed to boost employability in an increasingly tech-driven economy.
To address national grid failures that disrupt computer-based exams and learning, Zenith Bank installed a 30kW solar hybrid power system at the Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) ICT Centre in Ijanikin. The system automatically switches between solar battery storage, the national grid and generators, keeping servers, networking gear, security systems and workstations running smoothly without power interruptions.
Zenith Bank also helps students build practical skills and gain global recognition through strategic partnerships. Partnering with the ReadManna Empowerment Initiative, the bank supports national ICT competitions like the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship and the ReadManna ICT Quiz and Awards. The programs give students from cities such as Abuja, Port Harcourt, Benin, Uyo, Osun, Ondo and Ilorin a platform to test their digital skills nationally and internationally.

Beyond digital tools, the bank works to eliminate health-related barriers that cause female students to miss school. Through its “Pad-A-Queen” initiative, Zenith Bank committed N5 million to supply sanitary pads, hygiene products, notebooks and health education across schools in Lagos State.
In addition, in partnership with the Marymine Mother’s Care Initiative Network, the bank delivers menstrual hygiene support and awareness programs addressing sexual and gender-based violence to women and girls living in displaced persons (IDP) camps.
By combining physical school upgrades, digital equipment, clean energy and social health support, Zenith Bank is helping build the infrastructure required to prepare young Nigerians for a tech-driven global economy.
