Union Bank of Nigeria has partnered with social impact platform Zuri Circle to train and empower 98 women entrepreneurs through a dedicated business capacity-building workshop.
Union Bank of Nigeria, through its women-focused initiative called alpher has partnered with the Zuri Circle Network to train and support 98 female business owners across the country.
The support comes through the Fearless Female Founders (FFF) 2.0 Accelerator Programme, an initiative created to give women-led businesses easier access to funding, expert training, mentorship and useful industry networks needed to grow their operations over time.
The accelerator program attracted 2,810 applications from female entrepreneurs across Nigeria. Out of the large pool of applicants, 98 founders were selected after a screening process that included business verification and compliance checks.
During the program, participants received practical training focused on improving day-to-day operations, managing business finances better and making their companies attractive to outside investors. To cap off the initiative, Union Bank awarded business grants to five outstanding women-led businesses that won the final pitch presentation.
The 98 selected entrepreneurs represent a wide range of industries, including agriculture, fashion, food production, technology, manufacturing and retail and professional services.

Speaking on the partnership, Union Bank’s Head of Retail Banking Vivian Imoh-Itah explained that the bank remains dedicated to creating opportunities for women to succeed pfinancially and professionally. She noted that helping women build strong, long-lasting businesses provides the tools and networks they need while creating new jobs and promoting financial inclusion across Nigeria.
The joint program addresses the long-standing challenges female business owners face when trying to secure formal funding or gain advanced business training, giving selected founders a stronger footing to scale their companies sustainably.
