TabaPay a leading instant cross-border and account-to-account payments platform has secured $155 million in new equity investment to fund its acquisition of Transact Bank a US-based chartered financial institution.
US payment processor TabaPay has raised $155 million in a new funding round led by growth equity firm FTV Capital announcing plans to use the capital to acquire Colorado-based Transact Bank.
The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026 pending regulatory approval, will see the federally chartered as FDIC-insured bank rebranded as TabaBank under a newly formed holding company, TabaHoldings.
TabaPay acts as a middleman for fintechs, lenders, and high-growth businesses, enabling them to process card transactions, bank transfers, and instant payouts through a single integrated system. The firm works alongside more than 20 partner banks and expects to process over $100 billion in total payment volume this year.
By acquiring its own bank charter, TabaPay aims to cut down on the operational complexity of relying solely on third-party financial institutions. TabaBank will operate alongside TabaPay’s existing partner network, allowing the platform to manage instant payment systems such as FedNow and Real-Time Payments (RTP) as well as card issuance and processing across networks like Visa and Mastercard directly.

The $155 million injection includes a mix of primary investment and secondary share purchases. Beyond financing the bank acquisition, the funds will support TabaPay’s broader expansion plans which include introducing new merchant liquidity tools and pursuing further acquisitions.
Following the transaction, FTV Capital partner Robert Anderson will join TabaPay’s board of directors, helping guide the firm as it transitions into a fully vertically integrated payments and banking provider.
