Sage Grey Finance Plans Public Offer and Commercial Bank License

Financial services firm Sage Grey Finance Limited has announced plans to list on the Nigerian Exchange and secure a commercial banking license to expand its capital base and broaden its product offerings.

Speaking at a press conference marking the firm’s 10th anniversary in Lagos, Managing Director Temitope Runsewe explained that listing on the stock exchange will allow the company to raise local capital to match its domestic market operations and risk profile. Transitioning to a full-fledged commercial bank will also help reduce operating costs while enabling the company to serve a wider range of retail and corporate clients.

Runsewe outlined the core metrics driving the firm’s lending, investment, and advisory decisions, noting that commercial returns and social impact hold equal weight in its evaluation process. Alongside profitability, the firm prioritizes long-term sustainability, regulatory compliance and market stability across its portfolio.

To address financing bottlenecks facing local businesses, Sage Grey is adopting a value-chain financing approach. This strategy allows the firm to extend credit across entire business networks including suppliers, distributors and logistics partners helping enterprises streamline operations without having to independently fund essential support infrastructure.

Reflecting on the firm’s decade-long growth, management noted that Sage Grey started in 2016 as a corporate finance advisory firm before expanding into a diversified financial group with interests in financial services, technology, energy and manufacturing.

The company currently operates across four locations owning three of its office properties in Lagos while maintaining a strong record of audit compliance and corporate governance.

Moving into its second decade, Sage Grey aims to leverage its strengthened corporate structure, digital infrastructure and expanded capital access to scale its operations and drive measurable impact across the broader economy.
