Nigerian tech startup Choroids Limited has launched eSelfcare Mobile, a digital platform designed to provide users with information on plant-based self-care and wellness.
The company said the app provides scientifically validated information on the use of plants for managing various health needs, while also highlighting possible risks, side effects and interactions with conventional medicines.
eSelfcare Mobile is available to Android and iOS users through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
According to Choroids, users can enter a health concern into the app, select from available self-care options and access information on plants identified as suitable for the particular need.
The platform also provides guidance on how the plants should be used, as well as information on potential side effects, risks and possible interactions with synthetic medicines.
Choroids said users can also receive personalised support through the app’s messaging feature.
The company stressed that eSelfcare Mobile is intended for healthcare information and education and is not a replacement for professional medical care.
Beyond its self-care service, the app also has a feature called Pitch, which allows users to earn commissions by recommending the platform to other people.
Under the system, users receive a commission when someone they refer uses a paid service through their recommendation.

Choroids said users receive 12 free pitches after registering, after which they must pay for one service to activate their Pitch account for 12 months. Once activated, users can make unlimited pitches during the 12-month period.
The company said the feature is open to interested users, including students, retirees and others looking for an additional source of income.
Choroids Limited, which was incorporated in Nigeria as a research and development startup, said the long-term objective behind eSelfcare Mobile is to contribute to the wider use and understanding of plant-based medicines in Nigeria, Africa and beyond.
The company said the platform currently covers a range of self-care needs and is focused on providing users with information on the safe and informed use of plants.
It added that eSelfcare Mobile can be accessed through its corporate website and the platform’s dedicated website.
