Inside Meta’s New AI-Powered Facebook Experience

Social media giant Meta has rolled out a major update to Facebook, weaving artificial intelligence deeply into the user experience.

Meta has officially rolled out a suite of new artificial intelligence features for Facebook, aiming to change how users find information and share content. Powered by its new “Muse Spark” model, the update introduces a brand-new search tab called AI Mode alongside automated creative tools designed to make photo and video editing easier for everyday users.

The launch represents a shift toward a more interactive social ecosystem, focusing on delivering human-centric answers and automated media creation directly within the main Facebook app.

The headline feature of the update is AI Mode, a dedicated search layout that changes how users look up information. Instead of pointing users toward a basic list of web links, AI Mode uses Meta AI to surface answers grounded in the real-world experiences, recommendations, and public conversations shared across Groups, Reels, and feeds.

By pulling data from public posts across Meta’s apps, the AI assistant aims to provide cultural context, localized recommendations, and real community opinions. This design keeps users inside the app by serving as an internal, interactive knowledge base for everything from local event planning to product reviews.

To make content creation faster, Meta has updated its camera roll sharing suggestions with smart editing tools. The system can now automatically identify related photos from a user’s gallery such as gatherings or trips over the past month and suggest pre-made layouts.

According to meta, user can use collage cutout Templates that automatically crop image layouts of  group friends and family together and also use stylized video montages to create smooth video clips that use automated transition effects to turn raw camera roll footage into shareable stories.

Meta emphasized that these camera roll suggestions are strictly opt-in, meaning users have full control and can turn the automated photo-tracking feature off at any time.

For users looking to update their personal branding, Meta is introducing advanced photo presets that allow for instant AI-driven edits to clothing, hair, and accessories.

A key feature for sports and entertainment fans is the new virtual wardrobe. By tapping the AI Edit icon on a Facebook Story, users can select the “Wear It” option to virtually overlay a team jersey or customized outfit onto their photo. Similarly, users can select “Wardrobe” or “Restyle profile picture with AI” directly from their profile pages to quickly modify their digital look using text prompts.

These updates are designed to lower the barrier to content creation, helping users turn simple ideas into ready-to-share media with minimal manual editing. Head to the Meta Privacy Policy to learn more.
