Google is rolling out its “Personal Intelligence” feature to all users in the U.S., expanding what its AI assistant can do by connecting it across your Google apps like Gmail, Google Photos, and Chrome.
This feature is now available in AI Mode on Search, inside the Gemini app, and also within Gemini on Chrome. It was previously limited to paid users, but it is now opening up more widely.
The idea is simple. Instead of asking you to explain everything from scratch every time, Gemini can use your own Google data to understand context and respond in a more personal way. That means less repetition and more direct answers based on your digital activity.
Google says it is optional and turned off by default, so users have to choose if they want to connect their apps.
The use cases feel very personal. If you forget your car tire size, the AI can help figure it out, and even suggest suitable tire options after recognizing family travel photos stored in Google Photos. If you are planning a trip, it can pull information from hotel confirmations in Gmail and past vacations to suggest places to eat and visit that match your family’s preferences.
It can even help with shopping decisions. If you recently bought shoes, the AI can recommend bags or accessories that match your style, down to small details like hardware and color tone.
Google explains that Gemini is not directly trained on private emails or photos. Instead, it only uses them to respond to prompts when the feature is enabled.
The rollout is currently limited to personal Google accounts in the U.S., and it does not apply to Workspace or enterprise users.
