Paystack, one of Africa’s biggest online payment companies, has completely rebuilt its merchant dashboard from scratch.
This is the first time in ten years that the company has fully remade this tool.
The biggest change? Paystack is putting Artificial Intelligence (AI) right at the center of how over 300,000 businesses track their money.
The Problem: Why Change It Now?
For a decade, the Paystack dashboard was the main place where business owners went to check their daily sales, handle customer complaints, and see their bank payouts.
However, as Paystack grew and added new features over the years, the dashboard became crowded and complicated. Business owners knew what they wanted to find, but they had to click through too many pages and look at complex charts just to get simple answers.
The Solution: “Ask, Don’t Click”
Instead of forcing users to search through endless links, the new dashboard includes an AI-powered Command Center.
It works like a smart assistant that knows everything about your business data. Instead of digging through settings, a business owner can simply type a question in plain English.
• Old Way: Click on ‘Analytics’, filter by ‘Dates’, select ‘Revenue’, and calculate why sales dropped.
• New Way: Type, “Why is my revenue down this week?” or “What happened with this specific transaction?”
The AI reads the company’s real-time data and instantly replies with a written summary, a neat table, or a clear chart. To keep things perfectly safe and accurate, Paystack built special guardrails so the AI only uses verified facts and never makes up numbers.
Other Big Changes in the Rebuild
The update introduces several other features designed to make running a business much easier:
• A Simpler Layout: The dashboard has been divided into just two main sections: Payments (for transactions, refunds, and customer issues) and Products (for newer business tools).
• Works Perfectly on Phones: Many business owners now run their shops from their smartphones. Paystack made sure that every single feature available on a computer screen works exactly the same way on a mobile phone.
• Dark Mode: A highly requested feature that makes the screen easier on the eyes during late-night business tracking.
Paystack which operates in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Kenya, and Côte d’Ivoire believes that AI shouldn’t just be a separate chatbot tool. Instead, AI should disappear into the software people already use every day. With this historic 10-year update, the company is making sure African businesses are among the first to experience the future of smart commerce.
