Meta unveils new Ray-Ban smart glasses for prescription wearers with advanced AI features

Meta announced two new Ray-Ban smart glasses designed specifically for prescription wearers, supporting nearly all prescriptions and optimized for all-day comfort. The glasses, starting at $499, will be available in the U.S. and select international markets from April 14. The two styles include Blayzer, a rectangular frame, and Scriber, a rounded frame, both offering adjustable hinges, interchangeable nose pads, and customizable temple tips.

In addition to personalized eyewear, Meta is expanding colors and lens options for Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta frames. Notable options include Skyler in Shiny Transparent Peach with Transitions Brown Lenses and Wayfarer in Shiny Transparent Grey with Transitions Sapphire Lenses, along with multiple Prizm lens choices for Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses.

Meta is also enhancing its glasses with AI-powered features. Nutrition tracking is now hands-free, allowing users to log meals via voice or quick photos, with Meta AI analyzing the data for personalized insights. A new Early Access Program introduces hands-free WhatsApp message summaries and recall, letting users ask their glasses for group chat updates or specific message details while keeping interactions private with end-to-end encryption.

The Neural Handwriting feature will soon allow users to write with their finger on any surface to reply discreetly across Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and native Android and iOS messaging. These upgrades emphasize Meta’s push to make smart glasses more functional, personalized, and integrated into daily life.
