Cameo, the celebrity greeting app, has launched a new integration with TikTok, allowing U.S. creators to offer personalized Cameo videos directly to their fans through the popular short-form video platform.
The partnership aims to make it easier for fans to request Cameo videos while giving creators a new way to boost their earnings. Fans can now access personalized messages from their favorite creators right alongside the content they already enjoy on TikTok. Existing Cameo creators can also expand their reach to a larger audience through this integration.
The move comes at a strategic time for Cameo, which experienced a drop in popularity after a peak valuation of $1 billion during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company faced financial challenges in 2024, including a $600,000 fine from the Federal Trade Commission, and launched a birthday planning app called Candl to regain attention.
Cameo CEO Steven Galanis noted that “Cameo videos regularly go viral on TikTok,” adding that TikTok creators had their strongest year on the platform in 2025. The integration taps into TikTok’s growing creator base, with stars like Ash Trevino, Alex Dougherty, and Smooth Papi currently topping Cameo’s leaderboard.
The integration reflects a broader trend in the media industry, where companies increasingly leverage influencers to enhance engagement. TikTok already supports fan-creator interactions through features like tips, virtual gifts, subscriptions, and a bulletin board for public messages.
Alongside this integration, TikTok recently introduced new ad formats and a hidden emoji game within direct messages, further enriching the platform for both creators and fans.
This partnership gives creators a seamless way to connect with their audience while helping Cameo regain momentum in the competitive creator economy.
